Tamara Adrián is a Deputy in Venezuela’s National Assembly, lawyer and civil rights advocate. She made history in 2015 when she became the first out trans person elected in Venezuela and only the second out trans person elected to a national legislature in the Western Hemisphere. She has served on numerous LGBTQ+ boards, organized days of recognition for LGBTQ+ rights and movements for equality and challenged anti-trans laws in the Venezuelan courts, as well as being an active participant in many of the legal movements in the country addressing LGBTQ+ equality.
